Russian River Valley & Sonoma Coast

2015 Dutton Ranch – George Vineyard, Green Valley of the Russian River Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Located just north of the Dutton family home ranch, with its back to Green Valley Creek, these young vines, which have only produced their second vintage, have again exceeded our expectations and earned their rank among our single-vineyard tier. Grown on the flats of the Green Valley, the vineyard’s excellent exposure, consistently cool temperatures and well-draining soil add up to the perfect trifecta to showcase the unique character of the Musque clone Sauvignon Blanc..

2014 Dutton Ranch – Mill Station Vineyard, Green Valley of the Russian River Valley Chardonnay

The grapes for this wine were sourced in Russian River Valley from the Mill Station Vineyard in Green Valley. Back in the 1970’s, Martin Ray was one of the first wineries to highlight the stellar Dutton Ranch fruit in their bottling’s, and we continue this long term partnership today. Mill Station possesses the rare combination of excellent soil, old vines and ideal climate to consistently produce Chardonnay with finesse.

2015 Green Valley of the Russian River Valley Chardonnay

A significant portion of our Russian River Valley Chardonnay is comprised of our favorite Chardonnay vineyards located within the borders of the prestigious Green Valley AVA. The 2015 vintage will be remembered for two key aspects: unprecedented small yields, and incredible quality. Despite the low tonnage, we would have been remiss not to have culled several choice barrels from each of our Green Valley Vineyards, including our single-vineyard Mill Station, to present this beautiful Chardonnay as a testament to the legacy of the AVA.

2015 Bisordi Ranch, Russian River Valley Chardonnay

Owned and managed by Henry Bisordi, a veteran third-generation grape grower from the Russian River Valley, the small, dry-farmed vineyard from which we source this selection lays just to the west of the small town of Fulton. Thanks to Mr. Bisordi’s impeccable farming practices, and another stellar year despite the drought, we are delighted to be able to present another vintage of this small, single-vineyard wine.

2015 Green Valley of the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

This wine is sourced primarily from the Marty’s Vineyard of Dutton Ranch in the heart of Green Valley. From this immaculate, south-facing, gently sloping vineyard we pick a combination of Dijon clones, reputed for producing some of the most sought after wine from the appellation. The delicate, fruit-forward nature of the Green Valley fruit is boosted by the more substantial and opulent fruit from Hallberg Vineyard which lies to southeast on acclaimed Gold Ridge soil.

2015 Estate Grown Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

2015 is the second vintage of our Estate-grown Pinot Noir, this seven year old vineyard is still producing small  lots of fruit, yet we have seen wonderful changes in this  12-acre estate vineyard comprised of 7 different clones grown in highly regarded Goldridge soil just to the east of our winery. The largest section of our vineyard, which slopes down toward the Santa Rosa Laguna is planted with several famous Dijon clones including 667, 777, 115, and 828, along with a tiny corner of the lesser known, but beautifully intense 943. Our smaller vineyard, which we refer to as “The Tower Block” is comprised entirely of Clone 37, which is our legacy to our winery’s name sake, who brought the vines himself from France in the 1930’s.

2014 Dark Star Hill, Green Valley of the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir

Green Valley’s proven record as one of the most highly acclaimed Pinot Noir AVA’s in the state has garnished a reputation as revered as its Cabernet counterparts in our neighboring Napa Valley. Our 2014 Dark Star Hill is our homage to the breadth of style, and intricate complexities of the fruit that is grown within its narrow borders. With our Green Valley Reserve, our goal is to embody the bright red fruit and silky tannins that define its iconic style. Our Dark Star is intended to be the counterpart, showcasing the deeper, brooding facet of the AVA.

2014 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

Our Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir comes primarily from steep hillside slopes along the northwestern edge of the county near Annapolis. The rugged, rocky soil of Stornetta-Hellenbach Vineyard is dry-farmed, allowing the grapes to develop flavor and concentration all on their own. Morning fog that often hangs on long into the day before giving way to warm direct sun, gives the vines and fruit an extended growing season to optimize its distinct terroir.
